I personally, have never been on a statin drug, however I believe the benefits of Ubiquinol are so great that I make sure to always have it each day. I also make sure to take a good serving of organic coconut oil with my Ubiquinol for better absorption.
(PLEASE NOTE!! I AM NOT RECOMMITTING YOU START TAKING SUPPLEMENTS, CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR IF YOU DO DECIDE!)
"The Benefits of statins are questionable, and major studies have failed to show how they protect the body from illness."
Starting your own food journey will be super challenging and lonely for many as it was for myself. Discovering what was going on with the foods was amazing and shocking at the same time. It will not be difficult to attract attention, from the naysayers on your new understanding of modern foods. As you start to exclude the fake food like products and start to incorporate the real foods, the criticizing from the non-believers will be questioning you and your journey. I knew what I was doing was right, as my body was detoxing from many of the excitotoxins, I was able to identify in the foods. One of the poisons that was effecting my journey was gluten. For a few weeks I was eating organic sprouted whole wheat bread, in the effort of improving my diet, not realizing that the protein/gluten (Glutenin, Gliadin) in the bread was causing me to develop IBS and Malabsorption. Fortunately thru my focus I have been able to keep the naysayers at bay as I continue my food journey.
"Stand up for what you believe in, even if you're standing alone."
"Learn to be alone and to like it. There is nothing more freeing and empowering than learning to like your own company."
"It's my belief that gluten is a modern poison."
Today's dinner, (2) thin slices of turkey breast with avocado and (3) turkey breast skins. In the fall of 1958 a study called (The Seven Countries Study) was formally started, from this moment American's and many around the world would come to believe that cholesterol was harmful and that it was the cause of cardiovascular disease, along with countless deaths. It also would not help as an American scientist by the name of (Ancel Benjamin Keys), would help in force this flawed study. Today as cardiovascular disease continues to shorten the life span of many Americans and many thru-out the world. The most important tool you or I will have on this journey is to continue to keep an open mind. I myself was a believer in this study, and was even afraid to enjoy the fats in my past meals. I had to unlearn this science, and what the (American Heart Association) was telling us, with some daring on my part I started eating eggs, uncured bacon, coconut oil, and fatty meats with full enjoyment. Today their are many factors that can cause cardiovascular disease, which include flour, sugar, grains, inflammation, viruses and even bacterias. The Journey moves forward as I enjoy fats and I work to improve my Paleo/Ketogenic life style. Here is a book I highly recommend called The Great Cholesterol Myth by Jonny Bowden.
"The new dietary recommendations of the U.S. government, nutrition experts and medical experts are dead wrong."
"Eating fat doesn't make you fat."
Going to my family doctor, for my yearly checkup was always a simply trip. I would speak with my doctor for a few minutes, as he would check my vital signs. My doctor then would instruct his attending nurse to draw my blood so it could be sent out to the laboratory for a full checkup. I would come back within a week or two for the results of my blood work, the answer I would always get from my doctor, was YOUR GOOD! each time just taking his word for it, that I was, because he was the authority, over my health or at least I thought he was. Thankfully I'd always made sure to ask for a copy of my blood work after each visit, with not even knowing how to read the numbers (HDL, A1c, LDL, VLDL) at the time. It was my gut feeling that was telling to make sure to get my copy, even when my doctor wanted to know why. The copies of my past blood work that I have been able save have been very important, on this food journey, today I have a very good understand of what was going on before I was diagnose type 2 diabetic. As we all go to see the family doctor for that yearly checkup, I encourage everyone to get a copy of their blood work and learn the numbers as I have, and remember you are the true authority over your health. (Please note this post is not to bash doctor's, as I have many wonderful doctors thru out my website).
"People are so afraid of authority figures and doctors are authority figures."
“Don’t bother looking in the history books for what has slaughtered the most Americans. Look instead at your dinner table. There’s an old saying: “One fourth of what you eat keeps you alive. The other three-fourths keep your doctor alive.” We eat too much of the wrong things and not enough of the right things. Scientific research continually indicates nationwide vitamin and mineral deficiencies in our country. We spend over one million million dollars (one trillion) each year on disease care in America. Is it any surprise that doctors consistently place among the very highest incomes?”
“The idea is to be well. The first step is wanting to be. The old Chinese saying is “When you are sick of sickness, you are no longer sick.” The second step is to do something to improve your health. Each of us is ultimately responsible for our own wellness. I think we should leave no stone unturned in our search for better health. I also believe that you get out of your body what you put into it. Your body will respond to your efforts to improve your health. The time to start is right now. Another old saying: “If not now, when? If not here, where? If not you, then who?”..”
