My depression on a vegan diet, part of my Journey included a short visit from depression, anxiety along with a few panic attacks. As I was working on improving my diet to help heal my type 2 diabetes. I soon learned that it was a poor choice and it did not work. When I stopped consuming meats, I was also cutting off my access to the super important amino acid tryptophan which is a precursor to serotonin aka the happy chemical along with vitamin B12. The depletion of tryptophan and vitamin B12 on a vegan journey was what caused this visit from depression, along with the panic attacks to appear. Eating animal proteins are so vital to a healthy liver, avoiding depression and panic attacks, that I will not be attempting this path ever again. If you are considering your own food journey I highly recommended NOT walking on the path of a vegan journey. Tryptophan and vitamin B12 are only found in meats! consider these two very important nutrients when you start your own food journey. "Levels of tryptophan have hugely declined in the modern diet. When we ate wild animals that foraged on grasses and other plants, we got more tryptophan in our diets. Grain fed animals have much less of it, just as they have less omega-3 fatty acids. In addition, the natural production of serotonin is inhibited by caffeine, alcohol, and aspartame; a lack of sunlight; and a lack of exercise." "Food is the most abused anxiety drug. Exercise is the most underutilized antidepressant."

Love your pancreas! Type 2 diabetes is when you do it to yourself. If I knew back in 2009 when I was diagnose with type 2 diabetes, that I would bring this disease/condition (Not Genetics) upon myself, I would have never eaten the fake foods so easily found today, mostly the flour, grains, and sugar products. Consuming these food like products caused my pancreas to over secret insulin, which had many harmful effects on my body, fat deregulation, fat accumulation and many more. My Food Journey has shown me the importance of loving my pancreas! I say again love your pancreas and avoid the dangers of pancreatic burnout! (beta cells). One of my favorites, I love the antibiotic and hormone free chicken, it helps to protect my gut flora aka the good bacteria which is very important for my health. Clean eating, consider it the next time you eat chicken.

Grass fed double bacon beef burger with lettuce, tomato, jalapeños, sautéed mushrooms, pickles, onion, sauerkraut. If it appears that the beef patties are a bit light, it's because grass fed beef is not injected with any red dyes, like many of the factory raised cow's/meats are! (no bun). "The new dietary recommendations of the U.S. government, nutrition experts and medical experts are dead wrong." Grass fed beef double burger with all the topping's Lettuce, tomato, jalapeños, sautéed mushrooms, pickles, onion, grilled onion, sauerkraut. (no bun) "Man is a food-dependent creature. If you don't feed him, he will die. If you feed him improperly, part of him will die." Ancestors ate the fattest animals they could catch, for this they paid there respect by drawing there images on cave walls. As I started my food journey it was a bit difficult for me to know if I should continue to keep eating meats or to go without them? So I gave it a shot at going without eating meats for a few weeks, it is safe to say, it diffidently was not the way. I did lose fat, but I also lost muscles and felt horrible without eating meat, once I started to eat meat again the nervousness and weakness I was feeling went away. I went back to eating fish, chicken, turkey and have learned that going without eating meat, is not safe and that no one should try it. Yes I'm a carnivore and you should be one too! Price Foundation The Vegetarian Myth by Lierre Keith "It has been asserted, quite correctly, that when you tamper with a man's food you are tampering with the basic pattern of his life." Organic Ghee, use in place of butter or vegetable oil for cooking, baking, or sauteing and surprise your family and friends with this delightful treat. I also eat a teaspoon or two a day to help incorporate more healthy animal fats into my diet. This Ghee has been a bit hard to find, but I have finally found it, made from pastured cows and raised with no GMO feed. This Ghee is also casein and lactose free. Try sauteing one half pound of wild shrimp with one teaspoon of Ghee and one teaspoon of coconut oil, the taste is amazing! "Eating fat doesn't make you fat." Baked Turkey with spinach red peppers and white onions. I love this combination I had it for dinner two days in a row, yummy can't get enough. I will try and post my version of the spinach recipe soon. "You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough." |
