Way before Wheat Belly and Grain Brain we had Dangerous Grains. I personally do not eat grains (no grain brain here) and I also understand how difficult it can be to avoid them. It is my belief that people should not be consuming grains of any kind. I hope this book can help you understand why. Dangerous Grains by James Braly, M.D., and Ron Hoggan, M.A. Early farmers would also appreciate the sense of physical comfort caused by these grains. Paradoxically, they provide this comfort through our inability to fully digest some parts of the grain. Undigested partial proteins, or peptides, found in gluten cereals have morphine-like properties, becoming potent drugs once they enter the bloodstream. Those who are at greatest risk from these foods often experience something akin to addiction due to the pleasant feelings caused by these exorphins, suggesting an origin for the phrase "comfort Foods." Science is in trouble whenever the will to believe overwhelms the duty to doubt.

I thought I share this wonderful link/article. The oiling of America by the Weston A Price Foundation. http://www.westonaprice.org/health-topics/the-oiling-of-america/ "Excess consumption of sugar, Starch, and cereal-based carbohydrates is easily the most destructive dietary tendency today. It is a rampant problem, leading to heart disease, obesity, diabetes, cancer and many other degenerative disorders as well as numerous mental health and cognitive problems." Primal Body, Primal Mind I found this very interesting, after researching more on gluten and type 1 diabetes. The loss of beta cells is now being connected to type 1 diabetes. Save your beta cells and avoid type 1 diabetes. Checking for pancreas antibodies early on, and going on a gluten free diet is known to stop the destruction of the beta cells. See link: Poor Beta-cell Function Throughout your life the most profound influences on your health, visited and function are not the doctors you have visited or the drugs, surgery or other therapies you have undertaken. The most profound influences are the cumulative effects of the decisions you make about your diet and lifestyle on the expression of your genes. I have my new blood work number's in.
